How to get to Gdańsk

Gdańsk is easily accessible by plane. In recent years, Lech Wałęsa Airport has become one of the main air transport centres in Poland. It provides numerous convenient connections to major European airports. The network of connections you can find here
Thera are more than 20 airlines flying to and from Lech Wałęsa Airport, including: LOT, Lufthansa, Rianair, SAS.
The free of charge transportation will be provided to the hotel, from/to the airport. Please do not forget to indicate your flight number on the registration form.

Travelling through Gdańsk and Tri-City

Public transportation in Gdańsk requires using tickets available at ticket machines which are available both at the airport and the Gdańsk Central Railway Station. You need to validate your ticket in a validator immediately after entering a bus or a tram.

Please note, that Sopot, Gdynia and Gdańsk use different ticket tariffications and if you wish to journey through different parts of Tri‐City, the best way is to purchase a metropolitan ticket which is valid in all means of public transportation available ‐ busses, trams and SKM trains.

Weather

In Poland, the long term average temperature at this time of fall is 10°C. However, daily minimum and maximum temperatures may go down to +7°C and up to +12°C. We strongly recommend a worm coat and an umbrella to be at hand.

Money and banking

Polish currency is Polish złoty (PLN or zł). 1 Euro = aprox. 4 PLN.
As it can vary we recommend checking the rate before you visit Poland.
1 złoty equals 100 groszy (gr). There are 5 notes: 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 zł. Coins include: 1, 2, 10, 20 and 50 gr, and also 1, 2, and 5 zł.
Currency exchange: If you wish to exchange Euro into PLN you have at your disposal exchange desks at border crossings, airports, railway stations, travel offices, hotels and special exchange counters called “kantor”. No commission fee is charged at kantors. ATM’s are very common.
